Occupy Chicago Plans to Disrupt Rahm’s International Conference Today rebelpundit March 9, 2012 Rebel Pundit Chicago, IL. A source has informed us that Occupy Chicago may be planning to disrupt a conference Mayor Rahm Emanuel is hosting at the Chicago Cultural Center today. The event is titled, “Fourth OECD Roundtable of Mayors and Ministers OECD Review of the Chicago Tri-State Metro-Region.” Emails of Occupy Chicago members which were provided to us, reveal they are planning to disrupt the meeting somehow, though their plans are not entirely clear. One Occupy Chicago member, David Orlikoff, states in the message thread, “those guys are asking for a face full of pie!” Orlikoff has a history of protest related arrests and was described to us by our source as “f**king crazy.” The Sun-Times has a breakdown of the event: The meeting is a “roundtable” sponsored by the Paris-based Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, founded in 1961 with 34 member nations. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg — who appeared with Emanuel in Washington last Friday on an education panel — and HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan are among the speakers, as well as Kim Campbell, the former Prime Minister of Canada. Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Gov. Pat Quinn and former Illinois Gov. James Thompson are also on the schedule — as are Robert Doyle, Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Australia; and Sir Richard Leese, Leader of the Council, Manchester, United Kingdom.
