In an interview on “Fox and Friends Weekend,” Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, said that the on going rioting in Ferguson was an unnecessary evil.

“During my lifetime and during the times that I marched or went to jail, or my father, A.D. King, or my uncle, Martin, we were asking people not to riot, but to use our words and use peaceful protest.”

King’s comments were in response to a Time magazine opinion piece advocating violent protests.
