Is Jesse Jackson Jr. wearing AA bracelet in new photo with Kucinich? Anne Sorock August 21, 2012 Rebel Pundit Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr., who remains out of public sight and has given virtually no updates about his treatment for bipolar disorder, has been slowly welcoming visitors during his treatment–and documenting them with photo ops. Jackson received another visitor, Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), this past weekend. Kucinich tweeted out a photo of his visit with Jackson. In addition to a multi-layered shell bracelet, Jackson, Jr., appears to be wearing an Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step bracelet. Although it was first reported that Jackson was being treated for alcoholism one month ago, since then his defenders have denied this, saying his treatment is for a mood disorder only: “The Congressman is receiving intensive medical treatment at a residential treatment facility for a mood disorder,” Jackson’s physician said in a statement provided to Yahoo News via the congressman’s congressional office. “He is responding positively to treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.” The statement indicated that Jackson’s attending physician and treatment center “will not be disclosed in order to protect his continuing privacy.” Jackson’s chief of staff, Rick Bryant, added that “rumors” about Jackson receiving treatment for alcohol or substance abuse are false. It is unclear whether Jackson, Jr., was wearing the bracelet last Thursday, when Patrick Kennedy visited. Given the lockdown on information the Jackson camp is releasing (in contrast to the transparency of Senator Mark Kirk about his recuperation), all we have to go on are these pictures.
