Busted! Exclusive Video: Romney Hacks Take Down Hundreds of Santorum Signs at Michigan Event rebelpundit February 21, 2012 Rebel Pundit 9 Comments In Michigan, Santorum supporters planted hundreds of campaign signs in Shelby Township prior to Mitt Romney’s appearance today. Some of these signs were planted alongside sidewalks and roadways across from and surrounding the Romney campaign stop. Approximately two hours before the scheduled event, Romney campaign staffers, including Dennis Lennox of Topinabee, MI, began planting Romney signs in front of the location. Around the same time, several other people, who refused to identify themselves, began uprooting hundreds of Santorum signs along the roadway leading to the event. Signs placed at a commercial intersection were also removed. When asked to explain his actions, Santorum supporters were confronted with obscenities from one person removing signs. He claimed to be unaffiliated with the Romney campaign. One officer on the scene, Lou Francis, refused to assist in retrieving stolen campaign signs valued at over $1500. How could you remove other people’s sign? We should not let this people do this to any candidate. What is the action of Santorum staff here. And what about Romney? We dont need a President who cheats at tthe beginning of the campaign Reply Nick February 21, 2012 This just shows how desperate Romney is getting. Reply william mcgarry February 21, 2012 First off it is a federal violation to tamper with campayne signs and the Officer should have taken some type of action. If it was the city code officers then they would have taken not only Santorums signs but Romneys also. My first action would have made a big scene which would have caused the officer to at least GET OUT OF HIS CAR and see what the problem was. Since he failed to exit his vehicle I would have made contact with him and demanded that his supervisor respond to the scene to handel my complaint and have the officer DO HIS JOB to enforce the laws . Reply BS61 February 22, 2012 Bless you for showing this, we had the same type of thing happen here in stupid AZ Reply Connie February 22, 2012 I wonder if the guy doing the work had a work permit… And who the policeman is voting for… Campaign workers often make decisions that reflect poorly on the candidate but ultimately Romney is responsible for the folks who are his hands and feet… If it is all about the win then I think it is clear that the person does not deserve my vote! Reply jimbobillybob February 22, 2012 Was this one of Romney’s illegal yard men from a few months ago? He spoke English fairly well, however. Reply billthecat February 24, 2012 So did anyone even bother to inquire as to whether these signs were legally removed? Was any real journalism attempted besides posting an edited and incomplete video with baseless accusations? Did you investigate or push the “scandal” that the police allowed the illegal removal of signs when you were there to document it? Or maybe, just maybe, was the removal of these signs lawful but it better fit your narrative that bad Romney would hire people to illegally remove them? Reply rebelpundit February 24, 2012 Nice one Romney-bot. The only one mentioning anything being illegal here is you. If no one in the video was doing anything wrong, they probably would have answered the questions that way, instead acting the way they did by refusing to answer any questions and using profanities. Usually when people aren’t doing anything wrong, they just answer the questions. Reply billthecat February 24, 2012 Shelby Twshp ordinance requires signs to be AT LEAST 45 feet away from centerline depending on road classification, it could be 70 feet depending on the road classification. Was the compliance of those signs investigated and documented? Simple question to answer. From the video they look like they were very close to the road. Typical road lane width is about 12 feet – so the math should be easy.
