A conference touted as the “first true national conference on Sharia and the Islamization of America” has been forced to scramble for a new venue after reported Islaimst threats to the Hutton Hotel caused the venue to cancel the event.

According to a post on the website of the sponsoring organization, the Sharia Awareness Action Network, the hotel had this to say:

“A senior vice president of the parent company, Steve Eckley said that his hotel has been getting threatening phone calls and letters and will not honor the contract they signed with the SAAN. Eckley told us that he wouldn’t let us on the premises if we showed up.”

The post goes on to state that “His [Eckley’s] company owns numerous other hotels including one in London that holds conferences promoting Sharia finance and Sharia compliant life insurance. Complete list of Amerimar hotels.”

The Constitution or Sharia: Preserving Freedom Conference, scheduled to be held in Nashville, TN, on November 11, 2011, was to be an all-day conference with speakers including Pamela Geller, Wafa Sultan, and Mathew Staver. According to their website, the conference hopes to provide “an understanding of how to fight the advance of Sharia Law in the United States.”
