That’s right, step right up, who wants to be the next bidder for a wonderful night of intellectual debate and discussion on how to bring down the United States of America! For just $2500 you and five friends can dine finely with President Obama’s radical-revolutionary friends; Bill Ayers and his lovely wife Bernadine Dohrn!

Don’t have $2500 to seal the deal? No problem! The current bid on the‘s 10th Anniversary Auction is only $350!

Here’s what you get!

Enjoy an unforgettable and scintillating dinner for a party of six cooked by veteran activists and educators Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. Fascinating conversation over a meal is the agenda for this special evening.

William Ayers, Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago (retired), has written extensively about social justice, democracy and education, the cultural contexts of schooling and teaching as an essentially intellectual, ethical, and political enterprise. He is currently the vice-president of the curriculum studies division of the American Educational Research Association.

Bernardine Dorhn, Clinical Associate Professor of Law at Northwestern University and founder of the Children and Family Justice Center, is a child advocate who teaches, lectures and writes about children’s law, juvenile justice, the needs and rights of youth, and international human rights. With Steven A. Drizin, she is co-founder of the Center on the Wrongful Conviction of Youth.

If you still can’t swing the dinner though, don’t worry, the Public Square a program of the Illinois Humanities Council does all sorts of other really cool things!

The Public Square fosters debate, dialogue, and exchange of ideas about cultural, social, and political issues with an emphasis on social justice.

By building bridges between theory and practice, The Public Square encourages the use of ideas as tools to improve people’s lives. These programs promote participatory democracy and create space for public conversations. Knowledge is power, yet much crucial knowledge still circulates only in small, isolated communities.

**UPDATE** It gets better! We Illini actually subsidize the organization putting on this wonderful night of intellect with the domestic-terrorist duo!

H/T: Illinois Review:

While Medicaid providers wait and wait to be reimbursed from the state, certain vendors don’t have much trouble getting their taxpayer funds every year. Such as the Illinois Humanities Council.  Since 2007, the Council has been the beneficiary of $4,189,582, compliments of Illinois taxpayers. Question: Would the sponsors search a participant for bombs before dinner? And if a diner was found with bomb where might have they obtained the idea?

Even if you have never used an auction sniper you should consider doing so. Sure, this is a new way of doing things but it is a method that will benefit you in many ways. What do you have to lose? Give an auction sniper program a try. Soon enough you will realize that this is the only way to deal with those pesky online auctions! `
