**Update** Video: Romney Hack Attempts to Deceive Voters at WA Caucus

Approximately 1,500 precinct delegates from seven legislative districts across Pierce County, WA gathered Saturday to elect delegates to the state Republican convention.

Alex Hayes, director of Mainstream Republicans of Washington State, distributed a list of preferred delegates to Romney, Santorum, and Gingrich supporters at this convention. The vast majority of these slates of delegates consisted of Romney supporters. This fact was not disclosed on the slate. Most disturbing was the letterhead on the slate–which prominently claimed the endorsements of the Santorum and Gingrich campaigns. In addition, Hayes verbally claimed that the Romney, Santorum, and Gingrich campaigns “agreed to work together” at the county convention. Such endorsements and agreements did not exist!  Indeed, the only campaign standing to benefit from the slate distributed by Alex Hayes was Mitt Romney’s.

**Update** We have received this photo of the proposed “Unity Slate,” Alex Hayes tried to persuade Washington voters to choose. The slate definitely appears to convey the slate is endorsed by Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.

In this undercover video, Alex Hayes decried dishonesty in politics while attempting to deceive Santorum supporters into casting ballots for Romney delegates. This is no way to treat so many hundreds of grassroots conservatives involved in politics for the first time.  His brazen attempt to fool those who aren’t professional politicos such as himself into handing over a massive win to his preferred candidate is disturbing.

Santorum supporters in at least one caucus resisted Alex Hayes’ call to grant Romney a majority of the delegates.  For instance, in Washington’s 2nd Legislative District, Santorum won 14 delegates; Romney won just 2. In the 25th Legislative District, Santorum won 15 delegates, Romney won zero! It appears Santorum supporters may not be as gullible to establishment tricks as Alex Hayes assumed.

The big question now is whether Romney campaign officials will disavow their surrogate’s behavior at the Pierce County Republican Convention. While claiming to be “pretty blunt” and “honest,” he failed to disclose his affiliation with this organization that already endorsed Mitt Romney. Claiming Santorum’s campaign prefers its supporters elect a Romney majority to the convention represents a new low by the entrenched establishment. Do they really think grassroots voters are this gullible? Apparently so.

I WAS there and confusion reigned since Santorum and Gingrich delegates and alternates were blind-sided by this “Unity” slate!! We came with open minds and dedication to participate in the political process. Personally, we came with a slate of Santorum delegates and we voted to preserve their chances to represent our convictions at the May-June state convention. It was like a Survivor episodic adventure watching more and more delegates getting voted off the island. I don’t know if there was a unity agreement between supporters before the convention, but I do know talks were occurring. I do know too that no results or directions were sent to Santorum delegates before the convention. In the end, Romney supporters garnered all 19 delegates in the 26th Leg. District as well as 15 of 19 alternate slots for the state convention. I do know too, that there was wide disappointment among delegates at the “politics” of some candidate supporters. I do know that many delegates came away from the county convention highly disillusioned with the democratic process mostly at the lack of campaign communications and their exclusion in the political process. Many expressed their desires to NEVER again participate. This is a sad legacy for a well run and greatly education experience for county GOP delegates and alternates.

Fortunately, I was one of the only three to be elected as a Deleg ate on the first round, and I am a Santorum Delegate. I’ve been very active in the Pierce County Rep Pty. for twenty years, and know most of the players involved. The two Romney Delegates are stand up individuals, and will be plus to our delegation. Representitive Jim McCune is our 2nd Dist. Santorum Chair and did a great job of holding things together. I noticed after the first round, that a number of individuals left, which is nothing new. The ones who did not leave were the Santorum, Gingrich, Paul, and a diminished Romney group of Delegates. The Romney Delegates who stayed around were the good and trustworthy people you can always count on to do the right thing.
If it smells like a fish…it is!!! There are many more details to list than I care to speak of at this point, but in the end, we teamed up with the Paul Delegation and did our best to elect the best people we could from the Santorum and Paul Delegations. We also attempted to bring in the best and most trustworthy of the Romney Delegation with us. We finished near midnight….
Granted, there are those who will argue as to whether we did the 100% best possible, BUT as a whole, we did arrive at the best possiple outcome any could have hoped for. High Fives to the 62
Delegates and Alternates to the State Convention from the 2nd District.

It is time to stop Mitt’s shenaningans. This thing was really low, I mean it’s a dirty trick that shows those people won’t stop until they deceive us all and get the delegates they need. After that they’ll discard us as used clothes. We need to join forces with Gingrich’s and Paul’s people and not let Mitt’s mountains of money impose another Obama on us.

Good luck getting the Paul supporters on board for anything other than Paul.

We are praying for a convention miracle and failing that, an independent run. If Obama is reelected-too bad. We are sure the congress will swing back right, and we prefer gridlock to a bunch of fake conservatives in control.

You cannot win unless you embrace Paul. I doubt this gets through to you. Maybe when the time comes you will treat Rand better otherwise this can go on and on.

You are no better than the liberals. You want gov’t to be big and powerful enough to police the whole world but not interfere with your healthcare. Silly Neocons, when gov’t gets big and powerful it doesn’t do what you want it to do. It does what IT wants to do.

The “left” and “right” in this country are just alike and you cannot see it.

All signed by Obama and supported by main three candidates

NDAA = Indefinite detention without trial
Trespass Bill = Criminalizing right of protest
National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order means ANYTHING Govt does in interests of “national security” is legal & above the law.

Then we have Ron Paul… a guy who has been honest and consistent for 3+ decades. Turned down the lucrative Congressional Pension. Gets more support from the troops than all candidates combined. Overwhelmingly wins youths, moderates and even has (D)’s switching parties. Crowds consistently in the thousands while the others have trouble getting a few hundred. An expert in Austrian vs Keynesian economics. Served in the military – only candidate who is not a chicken hawk. Knows and understands the Constitution inside and out. Respects our civil liberties and other people’s opinions.

    To The Mitt Rommney folks,

Congradulations, you have just managed to put another nail in the coffin of your man’s chances. When this gets out, and it will, you will increase the motivation of every Ron Paul supporter to go “write in”. We are NOT obligated to vote for Obummer light. Thank you for being so kind as to prove there is no real difference between you and Obama. Your tactics have just proven our point.
